Bridal Shower Season

by - June 28, 2011

Yesterday I attended my cousin's Bridal Shower. I realized that it was the third Bridal Shower I attended so far this year. I've been married for many many years. Which seems to mean that the Bridal Showers in my circle of friends has declined exponentially since my early years of matrimony.

My first Bridal Shower this year was for my daughter. Her shower was actually a Bridal Tea held at one of the area's oldest Inns. It was quite nice to meet our girlfriends at such a lovely place and enjoy the luxury of high tea.

Yesterday the shower was hosted by the Bride's Mother and Sister at the Bride's childhood home. It was so nice to see loved ones...both ones I have not seen in ages as well as ones I see more often. It was also nice to meet all of the Bride's friends that I do not know at all.

I was struck by the creative Shower Cake and cupcakes. So much so that I took several pictures. It is going to be a beach wedding, and the cake invoked the image of the beach with the Starfish and Shells decorations.
One of the family friends made the cake and cupcakes. The cupcakes were strawberry shortcake. I was quite impressed that these scrumptious delights were made by a friend and not a bakery.

I thought the cupcake wrappers made the entire presentation very special.  I was able to find the cupcake wrappers at the following website: Shopbakersnook.com.

I don't know that I will feel this creative...but I can see that these cups can help make a cupcake presentation even more fun. --I could see using these wrappers for an Easter Egg Basket cupcake theme.

Maybe my daughter will want to make these types of cupcakes. I'm starting to really love them!

  1. These cupcakes are making me hungry, It would have been nice to bring one home for your husband to taste. At least I get to see what I missed.
